Question 1

What water pressure do I need for my taps?

Accepted Answer

Pressure requirements vary by model. Compare the minimum and maximum operating pressure in the tap specification with your water system, and ask your installer to check the available pressure if you are unsure.

Question 2

What's the difference between basin mixer taps and pillar taps?

Accepted Answer

Basin mixer taps have a single spout that blends hot and cold water, controlled by one or two handles. Pillar taps are separate hot and cold taps, each with their own spout. Mixers are more popular in modern bathrooms as they're easier to use and give better temperature control. Browse our full range of basin taps to find the right style.

Question 3

How do I choose the right tap finish for my bathroom?

Accepted Answer

Compare the finish with your shower fittings, towel rails and accessories. Chrome has a reflective appearance, brushed finishes are softer, and matt finishes offer less shine. Check the manufacturer and finish code when coordinating products, as finishes can vary between ranges.

Question 4

Are all taps suitable for low pressure systems?

Accepted Answer

No. Choose a tap whose stated operating range suits your water system. A thermostatic control does not itself increase water pressure. Ask your installer to confirm compatibility before ordering.

Question 5

What does WRAS approved mean?

Accepted Answer

WRAS approval applies to specific products and approval conditions. Check the manufacturer’s documentation and current approval listing for the exact model; do not assume that every tap in a collection has the same certification.

Question 6

Do your taps come with everything needed for installation?

Accepted Answer

Yes, most of our taps include fixings, flexible hoses, and installation instructions. Some wall-mounted taps require separate concealed valve bodies — this will be clearly stated on the product page. We always recommend hiring a qualified plumber for installation.

Question 7

How do I care for and clean my tap finish?

Accepted Answer

Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions for the specific finish. Avoid abrasive pads and cleaners unless explicitly permitted, and do not assume different finishes use the same coating.
