Question 1

What types of kitchen taps are available?

Accepted Answer

We stock mono mixer taps (single lever), bridge taps (traditional two-handle style), pull-out spray taps (flexible hose for rinsing), and boiling water taps. Finishes include chrome, brushed nickel, brushed brass, and matt black. Consider your sink type — undermount sinks may need a deck-mounted tap, while butler sinks suit bridge designs.

Question 2

How do I choose between a stainless steel and ceramic kitchen sink?

Accepted Answer

Stainless steel sinks are lightweight, durable, easy to clean, and more affordable. Ceramic (fireclay) sinks — like Belfast and butler sinks — offer a classic, farmhouse look and are extremely hardwearing, but they're heavier and more expensive. Both materials last for decades with proper care.

Question 3

What is a 1.5 bowl sink?

Accepted Answer

A 1.5 bowl sink has one standard-size bowl for washing up and a smaller half-bowl for rinsing or food prep. It's a practical middle ground between a single bowl (which maximises main bowl size) and a double bowl. Popular for medium to large kitchens where you want versatility without needing a very wide sink.

Question 4

Do kitchen taps need high water pressure?

Accepted Answer

Most kitchen mixer taps require a minimum of 0.5 bar pressure. Pull-out spray taps and boiling water taps may need 1.0 bar or higher. If you have a combi boiler, you'll typically have adequate pressure. Check the minimum pressure requirement on each product page before purchasing.

Question 5

What size kitchen sink do I need?

Accepted Answer

Standard single-bowl sinks are around 500x400mm, while 1.5 bowl sinks are typically 600-1000mm wide. Measure your base unit — most sinks fit a standard 600mm cabinet. Larger undermount and butler-style sinks may need wider cabinets. Always check the minimum cabinet width on the product page.
